No experience necessary! We provide complete training and safety instructions before every rental. Our team will teach you everything you need to know about operating the JetCar, including controls, safety procedures, and riding techniques. Most guests are comfortable and ready to go within minutes.
Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure! We provide life jackets and all safety equipment. Waterproof phone cases are recommended if you want to take photos. Wear comfortable water shoes or sandals that can get wet. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes for after your ride!
Our JetCar can reach speeds of 45+ mph, delivering an exhilarating experience on the water. Speed varies based on water conditions and rider comfort level. Beginners can start slow and gradually increase speed as they gain confidence. Our instructors will guide you on safe operating speeds.
Operators:Must be 18 or older with a valid driver's license. Any operator born after January 1, 1989 is required by Tennessee law to possess a valid NASBLA-approved Boater Education Card (issued by their home state) and must have it in their possession during the rental.
Passengers:Minimum age is 10 years old, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (not an instructor).
Swimming Ability:All participants must be able to swim and follow safety instructions.
Scenic Ride (20 Minutes — $65):Our instructor-led option for those who want to experience the JetCar without taking the wheel. Single participant 18 or older only.
Quick Thrill (30 Minutes — $125):Our most popular option. Perfect for first-timers or those with limited time.
Adventure Hour (60 Minutes — $240):More time on the water to explore the Tennessee River and really master the JetCar.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled rental time to complete a mandatory, in-person, TWRA-compliant Safety Briefing.
Safety first! We monitor weather conditions closely and will reschedule or refund if conditions are unsafe (lightning, high winds, severe storms). We'll contact you as early as possible if weather looks questionable. We're happy to work with you to find an alternative date that works for your schedule.
Yes! The JetCar can accommodate a maximum of 2 people: 1 operator and 1 passenger. It's a great way to share the experience with a friend or loved one. Just make sure both riders meet the age and safety requirements. Lap riding is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
Yes, but we strongly recommend a waterproof case or pouch. You could get wet! Some riders prefer to leave valuables on shore and just enjoy the moment. We have staff who can take photos of you from shore if you'd like. Share your adventure on social media and tag @hydrochatt!
JetCars can accommodate riders up to 300 lbs.
Participants should be in reasonable physical condition and able to climb on/off the watercraft.
Participants should be tall enough to firmly place their feet on the floor of the JetCar while seated.

Perfect! JetCars are actually easier to control than traditional jet skis because of their car-like steering wheel and stable design. Our training covers everything from the ground up, assuming zero experience. We start you in calm water and progress at your comfort level. You'll be amazed how quickly you get the hang of it!

One of our expert instructors will take you for a 20-minute ride on the Tennessee River — all you have to do is hold on and enjoy the view.
